The DNA Center’s non-invasive prenatal paternity test provides an opportunity to determine whether the alleged father is the biological father of an unborn child (fetus).

When can the test be performed?

The test can be conducted after the 7th completed week of pregnancy using a blood sample from the mother and a cheek cell (saliva) sample from the alleged father. No fetal sampling is required. The test compares the DNA of the fetus (extracted from the mother's blood) with the DNA of the mother and the alleged father.

The results are available within 7 business days after the samples arrive at the laboratory, which equates to 12–14 calendar days, including shipping and weekends.

What happens if there is insufficient fetal DNA in the maternal sample?

If the maternal blood sample does not contain enough fetal DNA for analysis, the sample collection will be repeated free of charge, and the laboratory will attempt extraction again. In rare cases (1–3% of tests), even with repeated attempts, sufficient fetal DNA cannot be obtained, and the laboratory cannot issue a result. In such instances, the full fee will be refunded, ensuring no financial loss to the client.

How is the test conducted?

The process requires three samples:

1. Maternal blood and cheek cell sample: The mother’s blood contains both maternal and fetal DNA. The laboratory separates the two and analyzes the fetal DNA. The cheek cell sample is used to isolate the mother’s DNA for comparison.
2. Paternal cheek cell sample: The alleged father provides a cheek cell (saliva) sample, which is compared to the fetal DNA.

Results are ready within 6–8 business days after the samples arrive at the laboratory.

Accuracy and reliability

This test uses state-of-the-art technology to provide safe and fast results without invasive procedures.

• 100% exclusion: If the alleged father is not the biological father, the test will exclude him with 100% certainty.
• 99.9% or higher probability: If the alleged father is the biological father, the test will confirm paternity with a probability of 99.9% or greater.
