The Eurofins Group is a leading international laboratory services network with partner laboratories in 41 countries across Europe, North and South America, and Asia — currently a total of 375 such laboratories are in operation, with a workforce exceeding 30,000 and more than 130,000 analytical methods in use. Eurofins Medigenomix Forensik GmbH is one of Germany's leading biotechnology companies, primarily performing paternity tests and other DNA-based descent analyses. This laboratory is the largest private laboratory that continuously carries out testing for the German domestic security services (police and investigative authorities — Bundeskriminalamt, Landeskriminalamt). It also participates in court, medical, and legal proceedings throughout the German-speaking regions, and increasingly in other European countries as well.
The laboratory is led by Dr. Burkhard Rolf, university private lecturer (Privatdozent), author of more than 50 scientific publications, and head of the 30-member laboratory team. The experience of the head and the team ensures that DNA tests are carried out quickly, reliably, and accurately, even in highly complex family descent cases.
Every step of the laboratory's activity is regulated by quality-assured procedures. Upon arrival, DNA samples are assigned a unique barcode label, and their arrival and data are recorded electronically — this prevents any mix-up of samples. Every step of the processing is carefully planned and continuously monitored throughout the procedure. The methods applied as well as the reagents and equipment used are among the most up-to-date; the laboratory continuously follows developments in the field and regularly updates the procedures it employs.
The laboratory and the offices are located east of Munich, Germany. If you wish, sample collection can also be carried out on site, even directly at the laboratory — by prior appointment, of course.
