Which provider should you choose?

The result of a paternity test contains important information for everyone involved, so it is essential that the laboratory does everything possible to make the result as reliable as can be.

Paternity test

A paternity test — a decisive choice that affects the lives of everyone involved.

Before you select the provider with which to carry out this test that is so important to you, please consider the following information. Look into whether the services offered by a potentially cheaper laboratory actually meet your expectations.

Below we have summarized the key features of the paternity and maternity tests we provide.

For safe sample processing, we carry out the analyses in duplicate. Each sample — the father's, the mother's, and the child(ren)'s DNA samples — is processed at two separate workstations, and the result is released only if the two independent procedures yield the same outcome. This duplicate processing rules out any mixing of samples, mix-ups, or faulty processing.

If necessary — when a difference appears at only three or fewer regions (loci) between the persons tested — our laboratory verifies the possible presence of mutations through detailed additional analyses. Possible mutations can cause a difference between the DNA structure of the parent(s) and the offspring, and if this is not examined in detail, an existing biological paternity could be falsely excluded. A detailed examination of differences appearing at one, two, or three loci can confirm the occurrence of a mutation and reduces the possibility of error.

The result issued by DNS Központ is always evaluated and signed by a specialist holding a PhD scientific degree. Performing the analysis requires substantial expertise and continuous scientific training; the strict and tightly regulated accreditation system in the laboratory's country of operation ensures continuously high-quality, audited work. The presence and active involvement of an academically qualified laboratory specialist guarantees high-quality laboratory work.

We indicate the exact value of every chromosome locus examined on our reports. Other laboratories carrying out similar work do not always report the exact results of the examined chromosomal regions; they only communicate the probability of paternity. DNS Központ transparently includes all obtained results on every report, so that in any subsequent verification, every DNA sample can be precisely identified. The detailed DNA analysis report enables subsequent verification and the credible preparation of an expert opinion after the test has been completed.

Based on the above, our laboratory can confirm the probability of paternity with an accuracy of 99.999% or higher; the exclusion of paternity is performed with 100% accuracy.

The paternity tests carried out by DNS Központ examine a minimum of 20 chromosomal regions (loci), plus the von Willebrand locus, which indicates the sex of the person tested (this is the +1 examined locus).

You may find cheaper analyses on the domestic market than the prices we offer. Before deciding on the basis of price alone, please consider — along the criteria listed above — whether the cheaper service meets your expectations, in this difficult and important decision-making situation that has a fundamental impact on your life and that of your loved ones.
