DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is the blueprint that determines a person's biological characteristics. DNA is found in every nucleated cell of the human body (it is not present in red blood cells). At conception, the child inherits half of their DNA from the mother and half from the father. During analysis, this unique DNA combination will match the DNA pattern of the biological parents.
If a paternity test shows that the child's DNA does not match the alleged father's DNA, it can be ruled out with 100% certainty that he is the child's biological father. If the child's DNA matches the alleged father's DNA, we can state with 99% or even higher certainty that he is the biological father.
The probability is determined as follows: first, cells are taken from the persons being tested. We rub mucosal cells from the oral cavity using the sampling device. In the laboratory, these cells are washed off the sampler, then their DNA is extracted and subjected to a so-called PCR test. During PCR analysis (Polymerase Chain Reaction, PCR), several billion copies are made in the laboratory of certain DNA segments — the so-called markers — of the child and the alleged father. Because of this, even a very small amount of initial DNA is sufficient for the test, thanks to the gigantic multiplication.
The markers can then be analysed in a genetic analyser. The analyser detects the size of the markers. The result is the genetic profile, the pattern, of the person tested. The child's DNA profile is unique — half of the markers match the mother's markers, the other half match the father's. If it turns out that the alleged father's markers do not match the child's markers, the alleged father can be excluded with complete certainty; he is definitely not the biological father of the child. If the markers match, the probability of paternity increases. If necessary, an unambiguous result can be reached by examining additional markers.
DNA testing is based on scientific foundations and is highly reliable. DNS Központ is able to offer the tests at an affordable price because its laboratory is automated, highly efficient, and performs many tests from all over the world.
The DUO paternity test is advantageous for you because:
- You get results quickly and at a low cost: the most affordable test on the (German) market.
- We perform the test free of charge a second time: as a check, when the first test gives a result excluding paternity, we also process the second DNA sample taken from each person.
- Quality and secure work:
We are one of Germany's leading forensic expert laboratories.
We list all test results of all participants (allele lengths by chromosome region) in tabular form on the report. - Accuracy
The probability of paternity is calculated in every single case.
Every report is reviewed by two people (two independent, scientifically qualified colleagues).
In our experience, the majority of our customers decide to have the test performed on their own — only a few are prompted to do so by a court, the prosecution, or the guardianship authority.
In accordance with legal regulations, the DNA samples of the child and the alleged father are sufficient to perform a paternity test. However, in every case, the written approval (signature) of the child's legal representative is required for the test to be carried out. In a significant proportion of cases, the father may also act as legal representative.
In the case of certified sample collection, it is important that the person taking the sample is independent of the subject of the test and is not biased in any way. Before sampling, it must be ensured that the persons to be tested are identified (using documents suitable for personal identification); it is also important to take a digital photo recording the time and the GPS coordinates of the location, if possible one in which all participants in the test are present at the same time. The independent person performing the sampling guarantees that the sampling is carried out properly, that unauthorised persons cannot access the DNA sample taken, and that it can be delivered to the laboratory intact. The person taking the sample may, at a later stage — at the request of the authorities — make a statement or even give witness testimony about this. Certified sample collection has a separate cost; you can find the details in the webshop.
Premium paternity test – the most accurate result available
Testing of an alleged father and a child, or of an alleged father, mother and a child.
- Quickly and at a low cost: you get results quickly: the most affordable test on the (German) market.

If you are looking for the fastest and most accurate paternity test, you have come to the right place: our colleagues are committed to performing high-quality DNA tests with the most up-to-date scientific background. If you choose our recommended Premium paternity DNA test, even highly complex paternity cases can be clarified with the greatest accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing currently available (e.g. it is possible to distinguish between two alleged fathers even if they are direct relatives of each other — with the exception of identical twins). If you need a paternity test for court or prosecution purposes, the Premium paternity test is the best choice. In this case, in addition to the samples of the child and the alleged father, the mother's DNA sample is also absolutely necessary.
Evaluation of the paternity test result:
The probability of paternity is calculated separately in every single case. During the Premium paternity test, we compare 31 loci (DNA markers). In certain cases (distinguishing between alleged fathers in a direct line), additional markers are examined beyond the 31. The result issued excludes — practically with certainty (100% probability) — the alleged father who cannot be the child's biological father; and confirms paternity with greater than 99.99% accuracy in the case of the biological father.
The DNA test report:
Every participant receives their own copy of the report after the test is completed. All tested markers are listed on the report, and the obtained results are also presented in tabular form. The report is posted on the 4th working day following the arrival of the samples at the laboratory, or sent by e-mail to the address you have provided.
In the case of an Express test — for an additional fee — the test result is ready on the working day following arrival at the laboratory.
